What the published case establishes
Endress+Hauser describes temperature monitoring of a UHT nutrient-solution process at Chr. Hansen in Denmark using its iTHERM TM411 thermometer. The account highlights response speed and recalibration with the process remaining closed. This is a third-party published case, not a WESIVO installation or a WESIVO performance claim. The source is linked below.
The following RFQ workflow is independent procurement guidance. It does not copy the case's process setpoints, validate a sterilization recipe or establish interchangeability with the equipment used there.
Start with the measurement duty
Identify each temperature tag as an indication, process-control input, batch record or input to a separately engineered protective function. Ask the process owner to supply the required operating envelope and acceptance criteria. Record which party owns the control logic, any product diversion, alarms and final commissioning approval.
Describe the medium, normal and upset temperatures, pressure, cleaning conditions, pipe size, installation orientation and maintenance access. Attach a connection drawing. For a hygienic duty, list the required materials, surface finish, seals and documentary approvals for the actual ordered assembly. A catalogue label alone does not establish suitability for a validated food process.
Quote the installed assembly, not only the sensing element
Identify the probe, insert, process connection, any thermowell, transmitter and electrical interface on one revision-controlled drawing. WIKA's thermowell guidance explains that the additional thermal path affects response; its material and geometry matter. Keep mechanical and pressure requirements in the review rather than removing protection simply to obtain a faster catalogue number.
For procurement, make the configuration traceable: ask whether the submitted response evidence applies to a bare probe or the offered complete assembly. A certificate for a different insertion length or output setting needs an explanation of its relevance before it becomes acceptance evidence.
Agree where the response measurement ends
- Sensor or assembly test: identify the temperature step and the point at which its output is recorded.
- Transmitter test: state the electrical stimulus, configured range, output and damping settings.
- Control-system check: identify the input module, filtering, sampling and timestamp used for the recorded value.
- Functional commissioning: define the approved site procedure, witnesses and responsibility for testing the intended action.
These are proposed work packages, not four results supplied by an instrument name. Ask each supplier to state its boundary. A resistance simulator can exercise an electrical input without heating the installed probe; label that record accordingly.
Build a short evidence pack before comparing prices
Request the offered configuration, installation drawing, response-test method and raw time trace where required by the purchase specification. Include test medium, flow condition, initial and final temperatures, immersion, thermowell configuration, measurement point, instrument settings and test date. Identify exceptions explicitly instead of treating an unspecified response time as a guaranteed installed result.
At handover, keep the approved settings and the final drawing with the instrument tag. Record configuration changes during commissioning so that a later replacement can be ordered against the accepted assembly rather than an incomplete family name.
WESIVO selection enquiry
The confirmed WESIVO catalogue provides TT30E sanitary temperature transmitter and TT20R industrial temperature sensor enquiry routes. Send the process and mounting information above for configuration review. Any response-time commitment, hygienic approval or application acceptance must be confirmed for the quoted assembly; no TM411 result is attributed to these WESIVO products.
Use the companion t50/t90 guide to specify what the response percentage means. Send the drawing and acceptance requirements through the linked contact page to keep the instrument quotation and the integrator's responsibilities clear.
