Describe the temperature duty
Record the normal, minimum and maximum process temperatures and the ambient conditions. Explain whether the reading is used for indication, control or a separate protection system.
Identify the sensor and input
Specify an RTD or thermocouple type when known, including the wire arrangement or thermocouple designation. For a replacement, provide the existing instrument’s label and the receiving device’s input specification.
Measure the installation
Provide insertion length, probe diameter, connection standard and thermowell details. Describe the medium, pressure, flow conditions and available space so the mechanical arrangement can be reviewed.
Connect the complete signal chain
Specify whether you need a sensor alone or a transmitter with it. Confirm mounting position, output, power supply, environmental protection and required calibration documents before ordering.
