Scope: conventional full-pipe electromagnetic measurement
Endress+Hauser's measuring-principle explanation describes an electrical signal generated by conductive liquid moving through a magnetic field. This article concerns conventional full-pipe magmeters. It is a general selection checklist, not an extension of a product's data sheet. Identify the exact meter family before applying a requirement to an order.
Check one: the tube is filled at the measurement point
KROHNE's handbook explains why full-pipe instruments need a filled measuring tube, including at zero flow. Empty-pipe diagnostics do not create a valid partially filled-pipe measurement. Ask the designer to show the fill condition during running, filling, draining and pump stop; record how an invalid measurement status will be handled by the receiving system.
Check two: conductivity belongs to the actual liquid
Provide measured conductivity with the liquid description and operating conditions, rather than treating the word “water” as a qualification. The published Promag D 10 technical information illustrates that conductivity conditions can depend on transmitter configuration, remote cable length and empty-pipe detection. Check the specified revision and selected options. Do not copy one minimum value across all electromagnetic meters or all water types.
Check three: agree the reference and bonding method
KROHNE explains both conventional referencing and a model-dependent virtual-reference method. Protective grounding and the measurement reference serve related but distinct purposes. Identify pipe material and inner insulation, then obtain the selected device's connection drawing. A special measurement-reference option should not be interpreted as permission to omit protective grounding requirements.
Record configuration questions before purchasing accessories
Ask which reference arrangement the quotation includes and which parts are supplied separately. Keep the agreed drawing with the instrument tag and order code. For a remote meter, list the sensor cable as its own item instead of assuming a general controller signal cable is interchangeable. Have the supplier qualify the actual cable route and length with the selected configuration.
Distinguish diagnostics, signal checks and measurement verification
Prepare three separate entries in the acceptance sheet: displayed diagnostic state, transfer of a value to the controller, and the agreed verification of the flow measurement. A successful analog-output simulation confirms a signal path under that test; it does not demonstrate the hydraulic measuring conditions. Document the method, reference used, operating state and acceptance requirement rather than creating an accuracy claim from a stable screen.

询问报价包含哪种参考方案，哪些部件另行供货。将已确认接线图与仪表位号、订货号关联保存。分体式仪表应把传感器电缆单独列项，不能默认与普通控制器信号电缆互换；要求供应商按具体配置核对实际电缆路线与长度。
区分诊断、信号核查与测量验证
验收表中分别列出显示的诊断状态、数值传至控制器的情况，以及约定的流量测量验证。模拟量输出模拟成功，只能证明该项测试中的信号路径，不能证明水力测量条件。应保存方法、使用的参考、运行状态和验收要求，不能依据显示稳定就形成准确度结论。
